A Lay It Down Valentine's Day

This is a once in a lifetime experience. A Lay It Down Valentine's Day features Lloyd, K Camp, Maiya Da Don, Billy B, and Hot 97's own DJ Drewski.

DJ Drewski
DJ Drewski grew up in New Jersey. His entrepreneurship started at a very young age when Drewski nurtured a sincere passion for music. With the help of great mentors Cipha Sounds and Angie Martinez, Drewski earned his way into the DJ rank. His media affiliations include BET, VH1, MTV, and many more. Drewski began producing for Hot 97 almost a decade ago. He developed great expertise working as the official producer on The Angie Martinez Show. He improved his skills and continued to create himself within his craft. Meanwhile, Drewski’s work also proved instrumental in Cipha Sounds and DJ Enuff’s production success. Notably, Drewski works as an A&R and DJ for performing artist Maino and Jim Jones.

Billy B
Jahdira Atkins, known as Billy B is one of the hottest, up and coming female emcee out of Brooklyn, NY. Billy found the inspiration to create music out of a form of self-expression. “I just want to express myself and my lifestyle. My lifestyle and the lifestyles of those around me is one of my biggest influences in my music”. Truly a rose that grew from concrete with razor sharp bars, she isn't just a pretty face. Her lively, energetic personality is magnetic. Featured on Lola Brooke’s “don’t play wit it” it became one of the hottest tracks of the year in 2022. Billy’s new single “Break” is taking airways but storm and she’s definitely a female artist to look for in 2023.

Maiya The Don
Maiya the Don is an emerging artist in the hip hop world. Hailing from East New York, she rose to popularity on social media via TikTok, where she gained countless views on her videos where she would lip sync to poplar songs and show her followers trendy, new hairstyles.

The newcomer recently dropped a song titled “telfy” that has been gaining notoriety. In the first two weeks of dropping this video it generated 273K views. Her joyful energy and explosive wordplay have fans from all over reciting her lyrics.

As a rising star, Maiya hopes to bring authenticity through her music. “I hope to bring myself to the industry,” she disclosed. “There isn’t anyone that sounds like me, there isn’t anyone that looks like me. I’m one of one. I will bring authenticity and great music.

K Camp
Born in Milwaukee and raised in Atlanta, K Camp (Kristopher Campbell) started performing in high school as a member of HBC. The group split, in part due to lack of ambition, but K Camp was prompted to take his talent a little more seriously. He continued to perform and record on his own, in 2009, released the party anthem “All Night”, which gained popularity in Atlanta. He achieved commercial success with “Money Baby” and “Cut Her Off” (both 2013). These platinum hits were also received with critical acclaim, most notably placement in XXL magazine’s Freshman Class, and led to the album Only Way Is Up (2015), the source of three additional RIAA-certified singles. “Lottery(2019),” a viral hit through video-sharing applications that helped make the subsequent fourth album, Kiss 5 (2020), his second release to peak within the Top 30 of Billboard 200. Float, his sixth studio effort, appeared in 2021

Lloyd
Lloyd began his professional career at age 15 as a member of the band N-Toon, a teen pop group. The group disbanded shortly after releasing their debut album, Toon Time, in 2000. Three years later, Lloyd went solo.

Lloyd’s first single as a solo artist was “Southside,” which peaked in the Top 20 on Billboard’s Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart in 2004. The album released the same year with the same title debuted at No. 11 on the Billboard 200 chart.

After the success of Southside, Lloyd waited three years before releasing the popular sophomore album Street Love, which peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 chart. The singer wasted no time pumping out another album, Lessons In Love just a year later. In 2010, after a switch to Interscope Records, he released his fourth studio album, King of Hearts. After the 2012 release of his first mixtape, The Playboy Diaries, Vol. 1, Lloyd retreated from the spotlight to focus on his personal life. The singer would not release new music until 2016. Preceded by the release of the title track, the Tru EP arrived in late 2016, and was followed in 2018 by the Tru LP, a full-length version that included the single "Caramel."

With over 15 years in the music industry, Lloyd has a unique position in R&B. Lloyd is considered a legacy act. Creating good music, celebrating human understanding, telling stories and connecting with people has been therapeutic over the years for the singer. “So now you hear my music and it’s got a lot more elements of life, of experience, of appreciation, of honesty, of pride. It’s just about where you are in life and what you can relate to in those moments.”
