This show will be held in our intimate UpStage area.
Josh Yavneh isn’t reinventing the wheel, he’s putting his own spin on it. This veteran to the New York music scene takes old Americana and makes it new. With a tip of the hat to the likes of Bob Dylan, Neil Young, Howlin Wolf, and Kurt Cobain, Yavneh has shaped his eclectic catalogue to echo sounds of the past. He’s been grinding since high school. Playing wherever and whenever he can. From tiny holes in the wall in the middle of nowhere to beloved NYC and Long Island dive bars to Maxwell’s, Mercury Lounge and Gramercy Theater either solo or with various bands including his longtime band, The Culprits.
COVID and fatherhood temporarily halted shows, but Yavneh is now back with vengeance with “Josh Yavneh & Friends”. Joining him is some of the most talented musicians in Stamford. Rob Hoff (Drums) and Nathan Janette (bass/backup vocals) have both been part of the Connecticut/NYC music scene for yearsz Rounding out the lineup is lead guitarist Jon Gradman (lead guitar) who moved to the area around the same time as Josh is a Pittsburgh native who has been in bands since high school. Together they garnered praise for their mix of Americana, rock, blues and more.
Yavnehs self titled album, “4 songs EP” and the “On The Table” EP by Josh Yavneh & The Culprits are available wherever you stream music. Rock n roll ain’t dead.
The Boardlords are a loud, fast, gloriously unhinged skate-punk band from Port Chester, NY; thrashing stages (and the occasional skateboard) for over 25 years. Formed in 2000 at The Radillac — a local watering hole owned by vocalist Steve Moy — and the neighboring Studio/Clubhouse run by guitarist Dan Walsh, the band quickly became a staple of the tri-state punk scene. Since then, they’ve recorded three full-length albums (The Boardlords, Ride Again, and Wax Museum), released a string of music videos and mockumentaries, and played more than countless shows across the country.
Known for their twin-guitar assault, locked-in rhythm section, and the ability to turn any venue into a skatepark (literally — there have been mid-set ollies), The Boardlords have shared stages with punk legends like Agent Orange, DI, McRad, Big World, Gang Green, Valient Thorr, Killing Time, and Sub Zero. They’ve performed everywhere from Skatopia to the Summer & Winter X-Games, from the US Open of Snowboarding to unsuspecting Chinese restaurants, and just about any place weird enough to have a power outlet.
Their music is pure American punk rock: eighteen-track barrage anthems about riding, partying, eating Chinese takeout, breaking up with stalkers, drunk rodeo clowns, and Godzilla. It’s fast, it’s fun, it pisses off authority figures, and it’s exactly the kind of music that makes you want to ride something, break something, or at the very least turn the volume way up.
Soft Spot is a Stamford based rock band soft spot is comprised of three gentlemen with a mission to take you through the stars. Drawing influence from iconic rock bands like Alice In Chains, Hum, and Superheaven, soft spot has made an undeniable impact with its moody, expansive sound, and has begun to win over listeners beyond the U.S., most recently garnering attention in South America and Europe. The band is formed by Gianni Carpanzano on guitar and vocals, Dave Eisermann on bass and Marc Marenco on drums. This past June soft spot put out their first record “This Will Make You Cry” and have been grateful enough to have shared the stage with 90’s Detroit rockers Sponge as well as Page Hamilton from Helmet and Anthony Truglio from Liege Lord. You can stream their brand new record anywhere you find music.
